Betsy Sikma

Senior Director, Brand and Communications + Community Relations  |  Milliken & Company


Betsy Neely Sikma serves as the Senior Director of Brand, Communications, and Community Relations at Milliken & Company, where she leads global brand strategy, internal and executive communications, and oversees the Milliken & Company Charitable Foundation.

In her role, Betsy sets the vision and governance for corporate communications, manages strategic messaging for senior leadership, and drives employee engagement through storytelling and culture-building initiatives.

Prior to joining Milliken, Betsy was the Vice President of Talent and Economic Inclusion at OneSpartanburg, Inc., and previously held leadership roles at Accion in Chicago, including Vice President of Strategic Development and Marketing and Innovation Team Chair.

Betsy holds a BA from Furman University, an MTS from Vanderbilt University, and a certificate in Nonprofit Finance from the Kellogg School of Management. She is a 2024 graduate of the Riley Institute's Diversity Leaders Initiative, completed the Milliken LEAD Organizations Program at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business in 2022, and is an alumna of the Furman University Women’s Leadership Institute. She also participated in the CDFI Industry's CitiLeadership Fellowship in 2014 and was an Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives Fellow in 2018–2019.

Betsy is deeply committed to community service. She serves on the board of directors for the Spartanburg Academic Movement, is a board member of the Chapman Cultural Center, a Community Impact Board member at the Spartanburg County Foundation, and is on the board of Emerge Family Therapy. She also supports USC Upstate School of Business as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board.

Betsy lives in Spartanburg, SC, with her partner, Jason, and their two daughters, Wren and Rowan.
