Earlier this month, LineZero had the pleasure of partnering with Meta to attend transformative events in New York City and Chicago. Our mission was to showcase the groundbreaking potential of mixed reality (MR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies, highlighting how these innovations are poised to revolutionize the future of work, learning, and commercial design. By demonstrating real-world applications and engaging with industry leaders, we aimed to illustrate the immense possibilities MR and VR offer for enhancing business outcomes, fostering innovation, and transforming workplace dynamics.
In this article, we will delve into our experiences at these events, sharing key insights, feedback, and the exciting ways MR and VR are set to transform various industries.

New York City Event - Future of Work and L&D Leaders
These 2 pivotal co-located events brought together senior cross-sector executives in talent, culture and human resource roles with leaders in the Learning and Development (L&D) sector, providing a platform to explore the latest trends, strategies, and technologies shaping the future of the workplace. LineZero's booth in the exhibit space became a vibrant hub, as executives eagerly tried on headsets to experience the potential of Mixed Reality (MR) across key use cases such as onboarding, training, and immersive meetings.
We were thrilled to collaborate with Uptale, an independent software vendor (ISV), who showcased their immersive learning platforms that deeply resonated with the audience. This synergy highlighted the practical applications of MR in creating engaging and effective learning environments.
Our VP of Marketing, Mihae Ahn, featured as a speaker on a high-profile L&D Leaders panel discussing "Strategies to Enhance Learning Engagement." As the sole tech representative on the panel, Mihae captivated the audience with insights into leveraging MR for educational purposes, sparking significant interest and enthusiasm among the attendees.
What We Heard
Feedback from the event was overwhelmingly positive. Attendees expressed excitement about the potential of MR and VR to revolutionize their workspaces. Many highlighted the practical demonstrations of these technologies as particularly beneficial, allowing them to visualize its application within their own organizations.
Exclusive LineZero and Meta Event in NYC
In addition to attending the 2-day FoW and L&D Leaders event, LineZero co-hosted an exclusive breakfast event at Meta's office in NYC to provide business leaders with an in-depth opportunity to experience the revolutionary potential of MR firsthand. Attendees learned how MR could revolutionize their businesses, foster innovation, and enhance employee experiences. The event included captivating demos, valuable networking opportunities, and insights from industry leaders, including a fireside chat where an Uptale client shared their remarkable journey of adopting MR.
Key Takeaways from NYC
The use cases for incorporating MR into learning & development, onboarding and soft skills training will continue to expand as more organizations see the power of leveraging technology to maximize business outcomes and increase efficiencies. The potential for MR to transform the way we work, learn and collaborate is immense, and we are excited to see where this technology goes in the future.
Chicago Event - NeoCon Highlights
The following week, the LineZero team travelled to Chicago to attend the highly anticipated NeoCon event. This annual conference showcases the latest in commercial design and business strategy, attracting over 50,000 design professionals and business leaders from around the world.
We were thrilled to have Sentio VR join us at this prestigious event, showcasing how MR can enhance the way we design, collaborate and share designs in 3D on the web or with VR headsets. Attendees were curious about the immersive capabilities of MR, with many expressing interest in how it could benefit their own design processes.
Exclusive event at Francois Frankie
The intimate cocktail hour at Francois Frankie in downtown Chicago provided a perfect setting for attendees to immerse themselves in the world of mixed reality. Surrounded by the chic ambiance of the restaurant, guests had the opportunity to engage in in-depth conversations about MR, ask insightful questions, and explore the capabilities of the headsets in a more personalized manner. As they sipped on cocktails and savored delicious hors d'oeuvres, the atmosphere was one of excitement and curiosity, creating a memorable experience that showcased the transformative potential of MR in a relaxed and engaging setting.
Key Takeaways from Chicago
The integration of MR into commercial design has great potential to revolutionize the industry. From virtual walkthroughs of designs to interactive presentations, this technology offers new and exciting ways to engage clients and stakeholders in the design process. As MR continues to evolve, we can expect to see its impact on commercial design grow even further.
Next Stop: Philadelphia!
The event tour continues in July, when we will be attending BOMA - International Conference and Expo 2024, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This event brings together industry professionals from the commercial real estate sector and we are excited to showcase how MR can enhance building design, management, and operations.
In conclusion, our time in New York City and Chicago was a great opportunity to showcase the power of mixed reality and connect with business leaders who share our passion for innovation. Stay tuned for more updates as we unleash the full potential of mixed reality!
